What it measures and why it matters
Measures the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the indoor air of the livestock facility. CO2 is a direct indicator of ventilation quality: when it rises, it means air is not being renewed sufficiently, which can affect animal performance and health.
How it works
Uses NDIR (non-dispersive infrared) technology to detect CO2 molecules accurately and stably. The sensor sends continuous readings to the platform and generates alerts when animal welfare reference thresholds are exceeded.

Frequently asked questions
What is an acceptable CO2 level on a farm?
For animal welfare, the general reference is to keep CO2 below 3,000 ppm. Values between 3,000 and 5,000 ppm indicate insufficient ventilation; above 5,000 ppm is a critical situation requiring immediate action.
Does CO2 rise more in winter?
Yes. In winter, facilities tend to be more closed to retain heat, reducing air renewal and causing CO2 to rise. The sensor alerts you when ventilation is needed even in cold weather.
How often does the sensor need calibration?
NDIR sensors have very low drift and do not require frequent calibration. An annual check is usually sufficient. AgroMind can schedule maintenance reminders.
