What it measures and why it matters
Measures the concentration of ammonia (NH3) in the air of the livestock facility. Ammonia is generated by the decomposition of urine and animal excrement. High levels damage airways, reduce immunity and directly affect productive performance.
How it works
Uses an electrochemical sensor specific to NH3 that accurately detects low ammonia concentrations. Data is sent to the platform in real time and automatically compared with animal welfare reference thresholds and European regulations.

Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum permitted NH3 level?
For animal welfare, the reference is not to exceed 10 ppm on a continuous basis. Occupational safety regulations set the exposure limit at 25 ppm. The sensor alerts at both thresholds.
Does the ammonia sensor need calibration?
NH3 electrochemical sensors require periodic calibration, approximately every 6-12 months. AgroMind can schedule reminders and the process is straightforward.
Does the sensor detect other gases?
The sensor is designed specifically for NH3 and has high selectivity against other gases. Under normal livestock conditions the measurement is reliable.
Can it also be used to monitor atmospheric emissions?
The sensor measures indoor concentration. This data is a good indicator of emission load and helps document the reduction measures adopted.
