What it measures
Measures volumetric water content at a selected depth in the root zone. It provides a direct reading of when soil starts to dry and when irrigation restores the target moisture level.
How it works
The measuring point detects changes in permittivity caused by water in the soil. AgroMind records the trend, applies thresholds and alerts you when moisture leaves the configured range.
What you gain
- Simple and quick installation
- Clear reading for irrigation timing
- Alerts and history without repeated field visits
Installation
You install it yourself, with no building work and nothing to set up
The sensor arrives pre-configured from the factory. No trenches, no power supply and nothing to connect to the internet: you place it, fix it and it starts sending data.
Step by step
- 1
Pick the spot
A representative point in the plot, inside the area the irrigation wets.
- 2
Dig a small hole
Dig down to where most of the roots are, usually between 20 and 40 cm.
- 3
Push in the rods
Push all three rods fully into the side of the hole, into undisturbed soil.
- 4
Backfill and tidy the cable
Fill the hole, pressing the soil down, and tie the cable to a stake or post with a cable tie.
That's it. From then on, readings reach the AgroMind app on their own.
What you'll see in the app
Readings reach AgroMind on their own. This is what you'll be able to follow:
Moisture (VWC)
Percentage of water at the measuring point
Irrigation threshold
Level at which water should be applied
Dry-down rate
Rate at which the crop and soil use the reserve
Where you'll get the most out of it
Vegetables
Control short, frequent irrigations in the active root zone
Vineyards and olive groves
Monitor a representative depth with a simple installation
Landscaping and nurseries
Avoid both water deficit and overwatering
How the data reaches your phone
The sensor works together with a module that collects and sends the readings.
- 01
The sensor
Measures continuously at the spot where you placed it.
- 02
AgroSense module
Collects readings from up to 6 sensors and sends them even where there is no Wi-Fi or 4G/5G coverage.
- 03
AgroMind app
Follow the trend from your phone, and we alert you on WhatsApp when something is out of the ordinary.

Frequently asked questions
At what depth should I place it?
Where most of your crop's active roots are, usually between 20 and 40 cm. If in doubt, we'll help you choose based on the crop and irrigation type.
When is it a better fit than the multi-level probe?
When what you need is to know when to irrigate at a specific point: vegetables, shallow-rooted crops, or plots where you want to start with a smaller investment.
Can I install several at different depths?
Yes. Placing two or three at different depths at the same spot shows how water moves down, much like a multi-level probe but tailored to what you want to measure.
What does it mean if moisture drops very quickly between irrigations?
That the soil holds little water (typical of sandy soils) or the crop is using a lot. In that case it usually works better to irrigate more often with smaller amounts.
Is it affected by fertilising or fertigation?
Very little. Fertigation can raise the reading slightly right after it's applied, but under normal management it doesn't change irrigation decisions.
Do I need to run power or have a socket?
No. The AgroSense module runs on a battery and solar panel, so you can place it wherever you need without running cables or doing building work.
